Illegal party financing case: searches carried out, former minister targeted

Officers of the National Investigation Inspectorate, together with police officers from the "Fulger" Special Purpose Brigade and PCCOCS prosecutors, are conducting new searches on the morning of November 25 in a criminal case targeting the illegal financing of political parties and money laundering on a particularly large scale.

Several individuals are currently being targeted in an investigation, including a former party leader who previously held a ministerial position in the government of the Republic of Moldova.

The searches are taking place simultaneously at multiple locations within the Chisinau municipality. According to the General Inspectorate of Police, the aim of these searches is to clarify the circumstances surrounding the legality of changes made to a political party's statutes and leadership, as well as to verify the source and legality of the party's financing through intermediaries.

Prosecutors from PCCOCS and police officers have announced that the investigations are ongoing, and more details will be provided as the case develops.
