The Border Police and the Ministry of Defense recommend that citizens exercise heightened caution if they encounter drones or their debris. It is important to avoid contact with these devices, as they may pose a danger to life and health. These recommendations have been reiterated in light of the recent drone attacks on Ukraine and the associated security risks in the region.

Citizens are advised not to approach drones or any parts of them found on the ground. Do not attempt to touch, move, or transport these objects.

Authorities warn that such items may contain explosive substances, electrical components, or hazardous batteries.

If you encounter a drone or its parts, please call the emergency hotline at 112 immediately and maintain a safe distance until the proper authorities arrive.

The Border Police and the Ministry of Defense emphasized that dismantling or using components from found drones poses significant risks, including fires, explosions, or electric shocks.

If you observe a drone in flight, do not try to intercept or destroy it. Instead, urgently report it to the appropriate services.

Officials stress that following these recommendations is crucial for preventing incidents and ensuring public safety.

Since the beginning of the war initiated by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, there have been several incidents involving drones or drone fragments accidentally landing in the Republic of Moldova as a result of nearby attacks.

One such incident occurred in early December 2025 in the Sangerei district, where a drone was spotted in an agricultural field. Before the authorities were notified, locals transported and partially disassembled the drone. Fortunately, it did not contain explosives.
