Zelenskyy signals March summit with Trump and Putin in UAE
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced plans for a high-level trilateral summit involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States, scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates in early March.
Following recent diplomatic talks in Geneva, Zelenskyy confirmed that preparations for the meeting in Abu Dhabi are significantly advanced. He emphasized that direct engagement between leaders is essential to securing a path toward peace.
Strategic engagement in Abu Dhabi
The President credited U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for their roles in the negotiations. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Donald Trump for his personal commitment to ending the conflict through direct mediation.
"We need to finalize what has been achieved regarding real security guarantees," Zelenskyy stated. He noted that the centralized nature of the Russian regime makes a face-to-face meeting between heads of state more critical than in traditional diplomatic settings.
