Moldova marks Independence Day with new public TV campaign "The Country Is Us"

To mark Independence Day, the public broadcaster Moldova 1 has launched a new campaign, "The Country Is Us." The project highlights the stories of ordinary but remarkable people who, through their work and passion, help build Moldova's future.
The campaign features twelve individuals from various fields who share their experiences, beliefs, and the impact of their work on their communities.
"The campaign aims to inspire unity and civic responsibility," said the project creator, journalist Irina Crăciun. "The central message of 'The Country Is Us' is that we all contribute to the country's future through our work, values, and actions."
The first person featured is Valentina Alexa, an early childhood educator from Chișinău who has worked in the field for 30 years. Valentina Alexa, who was named Early Childhood Educator of the Year, believes freedom is an invaluable value that should be cultivated from an early age.
"Early childhood education is the foundation for a person's development," she said. "This is the time to cultivate values like freedom—the freedom to think, express yourself, and choose. This helps form the true characters our country needs: people who live with purpose and work together to make the world a better place."
